Blackle!

Hey guys! As many of you know, the subject global warming is getting more and more popular, and things to do to save the environment are becoming more common. Here’s another good one…BLACKLE! Blackle is just like Google, except everything is black. You see, it takes FAR more energy to process the colour white then it does black. So now, Blackle can help you save energy (money, and the environment), and browse the net! You can get basically anything that you can get on Google on Blackle, since it’s actually run by Google. Right now, at the moment of posting, 393,036.579 watt hours (1 watt hour=60 watts) have been saved (compared to if those watts were used on Google or other white sites, like WordPress [sadly])! So, I highly recommend you use Blackle!

Reeeeally sorry to tell you this, but I did some research, and blackle doesn’t save energy unless you’re using an old CRT monitor (which not many people use anymore), and on the LCD screens just about everyone uses, it makes no difference. It’s almost even a scam because when you search with them, they get the credit (and money) that google would get. I thought it was a good idea too, and even though it saves a little bit of energy, it doesn’t really do anything.

Well that might be true about energy saving, but Blackle is made by Google so Google is still getting the money and credit.

I prefer using Darkoogle http://www.darkoogle.com another black Google and is available in over 40 countries http://www.darkoogle.com/international
Best of all its got the ’similar page’ option in the result page like the normal white Google. I use that a lot.
